Sorry folks but I've been so busy this really got away from me.I have to announce July.August and September SOUTH FLORIDA SHARK CLUB'S "sharker of the month"
JULY SHARKER OF THE MONTH
Catherine Davidson is by many standards a veteran shark hunter allready at the tender age of 13 she has caught her fair share of big sharks from the beaches of Fort Pierce.Make no mistake about it though this girl is tough as nails thanks to her dad Mark Davidson a seasoned veteran shark hunter who became a club member along with his two daughters this year.
Catherine's Story for 2009 .Congratulations to the Entire Davidson family for there dedication to this sport and for great catches .Great catch of an 11 foot Ray
its a day of the nurses slow nibling bites and chewed up crushed baits and we are backing in the sun with a real lite west breeze when we get another nurse bite on the 12/0 catherine picks it up and cranks like hell to set the hook the fish acts like a nurse but alot heaver i hold onto her harness and can feal the pull of the fish when it makes its short runs but it doesent go far and a litle back and forth we are thining its the king of all nurse sharks she works it closer and into the wade gut wear it just stops and iam thinking its not hung up there are no rocks on this beach so i help by hand lining it and i can feel the head shacks well so i thought it was actuly wing beats of the biggest sting ray i have ever seen caught she works it close enough to leader and the tail is so thick i can actuly get a tail rope on it and it takes four of us to get it on the beach we try to lift it up to see if we can get the hook out no deal we couldent lit it high enough to evan see its mouth so i cut it close take the pics and send it on its way .i got him in the water and he sits there watching me while he gets his breath back and slowly turns and flys away but after an hour hecomes back and stairs at us for about 15 minutes and leaves again i gueses sort of a tank you for letting him go and not filling a couple freezers with shark bait..he measured 11ft nose to tipe of tail and 6ft wing tip to tip

AUGUST SHARKER OF THE MONTH
William Fundora 10 foot Tiger shark
This trip to the Florida panhandle was a long time in the planning stages and when it all came together it was well worth the wait.I consider it to be my best work of 2009 so far with regards to the planning, the execution and the final outcome.I take pride in this site and doing a good job that everyone enjoys gives me great satisfaction. One of the main goals for this site is to share our adventures to new, far away beaches that have great shark fishing and to give those watching what we do an insight into our world .In this report I believe we accomplished those goals. Thanks to my good friend Ken Lineberry for sticking by me on those hot muggy August days and bug infested nights on the beach waiting for our monsters to materialize.
